Pakistan is quietly home to some of the most thoughtful beauty and wellness brands being built anywhere. The hard part is finding them.

They’re being built by women, by chemists, by dermatologists, by small teams who think carefully about what goes into a bottle. And they live scattered across Instagram stores, one-off websites, group chats and word of mouth.

There has never been a single place to see what’s being made here, understand what’s actually in it, and buy it without crossing your fingers.

So we built one.

What we’re doing

BYOUT is a curated home for Pakistani beauty, skincare, haircare and wellness. One place to find local brands, read what’s in their formulations, and shop a small selection we stand behind.

We don’t carry everything. We carry what we’d recommend to our own friends.

How a brand gets on here

Before anything earns a place on BYOUT, we do the digging so you don’t have to.

  1. We listen

    We read what people are actually saying about local beauty. Reddit threads, skincare forums, DMs, group chats. It tells you what’s working, what isn’t, and which brands are quietly building real trust rather than buying it.

  2. We check

    Where it applies, we look at DRAP certification, PCSIR testing, how open the manufacturer is, and how clearly the ingredients are listed.

    Plenty of good emerging brands are still working through their paperwork, so we look at the whole picture rather than ruling someone out on a missing tick box.

  3. We test

    Our team uses the products. We gather feedback from skincare people in our community. Where it genuinely matters, we bring in dermatologist input.

What comes out the other end is a roster of brands that earned their place rather than paid for it.

What we believe

Local first Pakistani brands deserve a platform built around them, not an afterthought aisle at the back.
Quality over quantity A smaller, sharper roster beats endless shelves of noise every time.
Transparency over hype Real ingredients, real results, real people. Every ingredient listed, on every product.
Community at the centre The best skincare advice still comes from someone who has actually tried the thing.

Who’s behind it

We’re a small, women-led team with roots in Lahore, Berlin and the UK, and backgrounds in brand strategy, software engineering and clinical science.

Mostly, we’re building the thing we kept wishing existed for ourselves.
