GMP: Good Manufacturing Practices

GMP is a set of standards for how a product is made: clean facilities, trained staff, batch records, quality control at every step, contamination prevention. It’s about the factory, not the formula.

Why it matters: you can have a beautiful formula ruined by a dirty production line. GMP compliance means the product you buy in March is the same as the one made in January, and neither one grew anything it shouldn’t have. For products that go on your face daily, this is quietly one of the most important stamps on the box.

What to look for: GMP certification comes from different certifying bodies at different levels of rigour. A brand that can tell you who certified their facility and when is more credible than one with a generic “GMP” logo and no paper trail.
