PSQCA is Pakistan’s national standards body. It writes Pakistan Standards (PS): technical specifications for how products should be made, and certifies products against them.
What it means on a beauty product: several cosmetic categories (skin creams and lotions, shampoos, soaps among them) fall under PSQCA’s mandatory certification regime. A product carrying the PS mark has been tested against the relevant Pakistan Standard: composition limits, safety parameters, labelling requirements.
Why it matters: it’s the closest thing general cosmetics have to a “this was checked” stamp in Pakistan. It covers things you can’t see: like whether a skin cream contains heavy metals above safe limits. (This matters more than it should: mercury in unregulated whitening creams is a real, documented problem in Pakistan. See our guide on whitening creams.)
